A post regarding RW Brother Timothy Ackerman.

As RW Peter Lawson, Master of Lodge of the Royal Secret sent out an email, and his wife, Edith Ackerman has posted on Facebook, I don't think I'm speaking out of turn.

From Edith's Facebook Post:

"So I guess it’s time to share here that Tim is in the best of hands at MGH managing lymphoma. He had his first round of chemo here last Friday and because his cancer was very advanced and he is strong they hit it pretty hard and his body is rebelling a bit - he’s been here inpatient since Wednesday and will be here through some of next week til his counts improve from zero."
Peter and Jenny visited Tim a couple of days ago. I stopped by earlier today. He's tired and a little loopy but still very much Tim.

As both Peter and Edith have said, Tim would love to get a text or email.

Our Lodge was well represented at today's Scottish Rite Valley of Boston Spring Reunion. Current Master, Peter Lawson took part in the 32nd Degree Ceremonial. Past Masters Timothy Ackerman and Brad Marston performed in the 31st Degree, My Brother's Keeper. JW Evan Fisher made his onstage debut with Princes of Jerusalem. Brother Sebastian LaChance was the lead makeup artist for all the Degrees.

It was great to see Brothers, JJ Glaude, Jan Franco, Patrick DelVal, Stephen Prentis and more, there to support The Valley of Boston.

Congratulations to Bro. Sebastian LaChance, Electrician of our Lodge as well as Bro. Evan Fisher, JW and Wor. Patrick Delval, Treasurer.

Tonight, Brother LaChance served as 2nd Gate, Brother Fisher as SW, and Wor. Delval with The Unspoken Degree Team as they raised two Brothers for The Henry Price Lodge.

Their work was exemplary and much appreciated by the Brethren present.

The transition to a New Year provides us time to both reflect upon the past year, to give thanks for what we have, as well as to look forward to the possibilities which lay before us.

Regardless of what 2023 may have brought, and left, to each of us, I believe that we can, and should, all be grateful for the Fraternity to which we belong and the occasions which it provides us to gather in person with men of different backgrounds, each striving to be better versions of ourselves. We live in a world polarized by unfiltered opinions and sound bites, while we as Freemasons strive to look beyond that which separates us and focus on those ties which bind us all together.

New Year's is a time for renewal, and our Lodge is about to set forth on that New Year together. The opportunities which your Lodge presents to you is that of fellowship and social interaction with Brothers whom you might not yet have met or those with whom you can renew acquaintances. Come join us in 2024. We will be welcoming many new men to the Fraternity, the Lodge and the Valley this Year. Your presence will be a blessing to us, and I have every confidence that you will enjoy yourself.

I want to wish those Brethren, for whom it is their tradition, a very Happy Hanukkah as the holiday begins this evening. As this is a holiday that commemorates enduring light, it is a worthwhile story for all Masons to take interest in. Chag urim sameach - Happy Festival of Lights my Brothers!

The Installation of Officers for The Lodge of the Royal Secret is Saturday, December 2nd. We'll open Lodge at 1:45. Our Social Period will start at 4 PM with dinner at 5 PM. We only have 12 seats left. If you'd like to join us, please RSVP by Tuesday at 5 PM.

The Officers of The Lodge of the Royal Secret wish you and your loved ones a safe and joyful Thanksgiving. We all need to be thankful for the blessings bestowed upon us by the Supreme Architect of the Universe.

“When the storms of life are raging, Stand by me;…When the world is tossing me, like a ship upon the sea, Thou who rulest wind and water, Stand by me. In the midst of tribulation, Stand by me;…When the hosts of hell assail, and my strength begins to fail, Thou who never lost a battle, Stand by me.”

The Supreme Architect of the Universe has promised never to leave or forsake us; God will stand by us through all the days of our life and through all the storms too. As Masons, we have also agreed to stand by one another.

Tonight was a great night at The Lodge of the Royal Secret. We passed five new Fellow Craft (One not pictured) including a courtesy candidate from The Henry Price Lodge. Congratulations to all of our Officers.

Sebastian LaChance and Brad Marston weren't the only Lodge of the Royal Secret members working this weekend. RW Timothy Ackerman, far left, portrayed the Pince Commander. RW Peter Lawson appeared in the 32nd Degree Ceremonial and many of our Charter Members are Valley Officers in the various Bodies.
