****REMINDER: APPS DUE Monday 12/16!*** Sacred Writes is thrilled to announce we will offer FOUR public scholarship trainings for scholars of religion, gender, and sexuality in 2025, funded by the Carpenter Foundation.

First up is a January Intensive! Apply by December 16th. This is a 4-week condensed version of our program, perfect for scholars wanting to start the new year with some new energy, a community of accountability for public writing, and a $500 stipend. Learn more about our programs on our website.

Attention religion scholars! Applications for Sacred Writes online public scholarship training focused on race, justice and religion are ***due March 25th***! Twelve trainees will each receive a $1000 stipend to complete the training from May-July 2024, including 8 calls scheduled for Thursday afternoons with trainers Dheepa Sundaram and Brook Wilensky-Lanford. Sacred Writes is now accepting applications for a *new public scholarship training program* for religion PhDs working in contingent positions, funded by the ACLS in 2024. Our Extended Fellowship Program includes: a 3-day in-person training in Boston, Jan 13-15; 5 months online programming w/ religion editors; and one-on-one mentorship from Sacred Writes director Liz Bucar and Associate Director Brook Wilensky-Lanford. Nine scholars will receive $1000 stipend + expenses for the in-person workshop, to work toward publishing 2-3 pieces of public-facing work on any topic related to religion.
