Yosimar Reyes is a nationally-acclaimed Poet and Public Speaker. Born in Guerrero, Mexico, and raised in Eastside San Jose, Reyes explores the themes of migration and sexuality in his work. The Advocate named Reyes one of "13 LGBT Latinos Changing the World" and Remezcla included Reyes on their list of "10 Up And Coming Latinx Poets You Need To Know."

Dear Students,

The 2021 Out To Innovate scholarships, supporting
LGBTQ+ students in STEM, are now open for applications. Scholarships are available for undergraduate, graduate, and community college transfer students studying STEM fields who identify as LGBTQ+.

In addition to our scholarships that cross
STEM disciplines, we are also offering over 12 awards that are directed towards students in biosciences, engineering, or physics. Some of these awards are directed towards students in your region. Students enrolled at any accredited U.S. educational
institution are eligible.

The application deadline is June 5, 2021, and
more information can be found
on the scholarship webpage. Please share these opportunities with your students, colleagues,
and networks!

Hello Students,

I'm writing to remind you to invite your students to our 10th Annual Q***r Students of Color Conference (QSOCC), which will take place virtually on May 28-30, 2021. These three days will be filled with students from around the state of Oregon AND the country who come together to build community and share learnings.

The conference will have educational workshops, affinity groups, keynote speakers, panelists, and entertainment. This year's keynote speakers include the founder of the Transgender District in the Bay area, Aria Sa'id, executive director of Black and Pink, Dominique Morgan, and Stonewall veteran Miss Major Griffin-Gracy!

I have attached our marketing flyer for this year's QSOCC!. If you could please post these flyers in your q***r resource centers, diversity centers, multi-cultural centers, and share them with your relevant student organizations and networks, I would greatly appreciate it! Registration for QSOCC closes May 27th, 2021 at 5 pm PST.

Hello Students,

As you all know the A. Barbara Clarkson Diversity Equity & Inclusion Center had to cancel the QTOPIA conference this year due to low registration numbers. Although the conference is canceled, It is with great pleasure to announce that our LGBTQ+ programming for the month of May and part of June is here. The A. Barbara Clarkson Diversity Equity & Inclusion Center along with Student Life have built a cohesive LGBTQ program that encompasses community engagement, LGBTQ+ context experts and educators. We are asking that you all please register and support our LGBTQ+ events, and the student leaders that have worked hard to create intentional programs for our LGBTQ+ community, and our very own faculty that will be presenting. These events are open to students, community members, and other schools as well. Please enjoy the attached LGBTQ+ program and REGISTER NOW!!!!

Please join Green River College Wednesday May 12th 1-3 PM for “Stories of Success: Addiction, Recovery, Reentry, and Building Pathways through Education”

We are honored to welcome back Ms. Susan Burton, founder of A New Way of Life Reentry Project and author of Becoming Ms. Burton: from Prison to Recovery to Leading the Fight for Incarcerated Women. We are excited to also welcome JJ Jackson - Education Reentry Navigator at Evergreen State College, Joe Conniff - Peer Counselor and Resource Manager at King Country Drug Court, Robert Ortiz - graduate of Project Rebound at Cal State Fullerton and founder of Sober Scholars, and our facilitator, GRC faculty counselor, Devon Klein.

This panel is co-hosted by GRC One Boo​k, GRC (Re)Entry Program, the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, the Green River Diversity and Equity Council, and the new GRC Collegiate Recovery Program. This presentation is part of our quarterly Diversity Educational Series.
