Alton Byers will return to Nepal once again this spring.

After years of studying glacial flooding, he will work with Kanchenjunga Conservation Area locals to establish a plan for hazard mitigation and preparedness. Congrats to Alton for securing support from the USEF-Nepal.

A new study led by Abigail Eckland found that sediment buildup has decreased reservoir capacity across the United States. Eckland explains that wildfires can also exacerbate the problem

Reservoirs across the West are slowly losing space to store water as dirt, sand and other sediment pile up behind dams, according to new, sweeping, nationwide research.
