May this auspicious beginning bring peace, prosperity, and blessings to all.🪷
Ghatasthapana marks the first day of Dashain, beginning a ten-day celebration of tradition. On this day, families plant barley seeds in a sacred space, traditionally away from sunlight, allowing them to grow into golden-yellow sprouts known as jamara. Over the next nine days, the jamara is nurtured as a symbol of growth, prosperity, and good fortune.
On Vijaya Dashami, the tenth day of Dashain, elders place jamara alongside red tika on younger family members while offering blessings for happiness, health, and prosperity.

Join us in celebrating Indra Jatra, one of Nepal’s most vibrant and culturally significant festivals! 🇳🇵✨
Indra Jatra is a traditional festival celebrated in Kathmandu that honors Lord Indra, the Hindu god of rain. The celebration brings communities together through colorful processions, cultural performances, music, and traditions.

This year’s celebration will be even more exciting with a special performance by Mandala Band! 🎶✨

NSA is excited to continue supporting and volunteering with Newa Khala for this special celebration. We encourage our officers and members to attend, connect with other Nepali organizations, and celebrate our culture together! ❤️

Check the banner for event details. We hope to see you there!
