Before he was screenwriting captivating stories about traveling to space and saving the world, Drew Goddard (Engl, Film’98) was a CU student. 🦬

Since graduating from CU Boulder, Goddard has built a career screenwriting and directing some of Hollywood’s most memorable stories like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Lost, The Cabin in the Woods, The Martian and Bad Times at the El Royale.

Most recently, he returned to best-selling author Andy Weir’s science fiction world, bringing his book Project Hail Mary to the big screen.

A conversation that started at a CU Boulder band banquet more than three decades ago is still going strong! 🖤💛

We are thrilled to celebrate Forever Buffs Clark and Amy Jones, whose incredible history of mentorship, service, and generosity has culminated in a $1 million gift commitment benefitting the Leeds School of Business and CU Athletics.

Throughout their journey—which has taken them from Colorado to California, Florida, and now Japan—Clark (a longtime Disney executive) and Amy have always made time for students. Instead of just sending support from afar, they chose to build relationships, offering advice, encouragement, and career introductions to generations of Buffs.

Thank you, Clark and Amy, for your extraordinary commitment to Colorado, our university, and the future of our students!

Forty years ago, Brian Nevin was a CU Boulder student playing fraternity parties and local Boulder venues with two friends who shared a dream. Today, he's still behind the drums with Big Head Todd and the Monsters, one of Colorado's most iconic bands.

From late night shows at Tulagi to annual performances at Red Rocks, the band's Colorado roots have remained at the heart of their story. This summer, they're returning to Boulder as the headliner of the Boulder Roots Music Festival.

Ahead of the festival, Brian reflects on the band's early days at CU Boulder, the friendships that have lasted four decades and the advice he'd give today's Buffs.
