ONU Student Philanthropy Council

ONU Student Philanthropy Council Outcomes:
Knowledge- Students will develop an understanding of and appreciation for philanthropy.

The Student Philanthropy Council exists to provide meaningful ways to educate and engage students in philanthropy, developing students who will leave Olivet as philanthropic leaders in their respective communities. Vision:
The Student Philanthropy Council leadership serves as a main source of philanthropic education to all students, providing opportunities for students to increase their knowledge

and experience in philanthropy. Experience- Students will be meaningfully involved in philanthropic endeavors. Leadership- Students will be trained in leading philanthropic initiatives. The ONU Student Philanthropy Council is divided into four different committees to accomplish its overall goal: Development, Recognition, Grant, and Student 4 Student. Each of these committees tackles a different aspect of philanthropy respectively: from building an endowment, recognizing its donors, giving the student body an opportunity to make an impact in the community with funding through grants, and instilling a philanthropic attitude in current students to assist their peers.

Meet Cami!
Q: Why is Philanthropy important to you?
A: Philanthropy is important to me because one of my passions is serving those in my community. I am a firm believer that everyone deserves basic human rights, but also the opportunity to thrive in the place they live. That is why philanthropy is important to me because it teaches and encourages people to actively participate in their community to help better their lives and the lives of those around them. I also am excited to serve on this council so that I can learn how to effectively strategize and create plans to help my surrounding community.

Meet Lucy!
Q: Why is Philanthropy important to you?
A: Matthew 25:40 tells us that what we to do to help the people of the world, we do unto the Lord. Philantropy is an opportunity to serve the Lord in a way that not only has a physical impact, but an eternal impact.

Meet Hania!
Q: Why is Philanthropy important to you?
A: Whether you call it “philanthropy” or “serving” or anything else, living in the way of joyful and unfettered generosity is, in part, living in the Way of Christ. So, it’s my hope that in promoting student philanthropy here at Olivet, we will have the eyes to see how each of our decisions to give of ourselves to others are not merely amicable gestures, but real, life-giving contributions to the kingdom of God right here and now on earth.
