Graduate alumni Larry Fischetti, Tom Clemons, and Jay Buckiewicz stopped by! It was great to see them reminiscing over the main office lists of graduates from the 1980's. (Larry, where's your dissertation copy?)

Congrats to Psychology faculty Dr. Mike Zickar, who together with PI Dr. Jeanelle Sears (Human Services/Social Work) and Co-I Dr. Samantha Kopf-Apple (Criminal Justice) has received a $724,587 grant from the National Institute of Justice to evaluate supervised visitation and safe-exchange services for families affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. The project will develop and evaluate practical tools for assessing the implementation, safety, and effectiveness of these programs, with the broader goal of strengthening services for survivors and families.

Congrats to Dr. Rebecca Campbell (Psychology) and Dr. Divya S (Media and Communications) on their Ella Elizabeth Johnson Research Award! The project examines how people engage with sleep interventions (traditional vs digital) and how communication, including machine-mediated communication, can support sustained participation. The award will support the development of practical findings to improve access to evidence-based sleep and mental health resources in rural Northwest Ohio. Great work!

Thank you to Drs. Garrett-Ruffin, Brott, Dubow, Riesgo, and Willing for your thoughtful planning and dedicated teaching! Thanks to your coordinated efforts, you saved 1072 students (!) a total of $87,812 in textbook costs. PSYC 1010 is often the only psychology course its students take, and it helps introduce students to a scientific lens on human behavior. Reducing costs in this course is important to lowering barriers and increasing accessibility of our field.
