American Culture Studies PhD alum Emily Lynell Edwardsโ book, ๐๐ช๐จ๐ช๐ต๐ข๐ญ ๐๐ด๐ญ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ฃ๐ช๐ข: ๐๐ณ๐ข๐ค๐ฌ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐ ๐๐ข๐ณ-๐๐ช๐จ๐ฉ๐ต ๐๐ณ๐ช๐ด๐ช๐ด, is coming out this month with De Gruyter.
Edwards, an associate professor at St. Francis College, completed her PhD in the Fall of 2021 at BGSU. The book, based on her dissertation research, examines how far-right groups develop as online communities that circulate Islamophobic hate-speech. Edwards thanks Dr. Radhika Gajjala and Dr. Timothy Messer-Kruse, her chair and committee member respectively, as well as all the department faculty and staff who supported her work.
