We’re proud to spotlight the incredible work of our student researchers from the Center for Environmental and Workplace Health!
We are thrilled to recognize two of our outstanding student researchers, Ashley East and Ashlee Greenidge, for their recent achievement at the Building Healthy Academic Communities (BHAC) Conference at the University of Virginia.
Their poster, which highlighted their research on workplace ergonomics and employee well-being, was named one of the Top Poster Presentations at the event!
Through their research project, “Ergonomics Assessment to Meet the Needs of Employees’ Health and Wellness”, Ashley and Ashlee surveyed WKU staff to identify common areas of discomfort linked to workstation setups. Their work aims to reduce musculoskeletal disorders and promote healthier, more comfortable work environments through evidence-based ergonomic strategies.
Beyond the conference, their initiative didn’t stop: they compiled a technical report, presented findings to CHHS leadership, and even created a self-assessment flyer so others can evaluate their own workspaces.
This recognition is a testament to their hard work, creativity, and commitment to improving workplace health. We’re proud to support the next generation of public health leaders!
Gratitude to faculty mentors Dr. Tania Basta, Dr. Gretchen Macy, Dr. Ritchie D. Taylor, and Dr. Katrina Burch for their invaluable guidance throughout the academic year!
