Vision vs. Reality — what we imagined, and what it actually took.
Our vision was graduate students shaping university decisions;
the reality was showing up to meetings, reading policies, and advocating in institutional spaces.
Our vision was funding that is accessible and fair;
the reality was careful review, accountability, and difficult but necessary decisions.
Our vision was preparing grads for life beyond the degree;
the reality was planning programs, adapting to student needs, and refining what works.
Our vision was clear, accessible communication for all graduate students;
the reality was emails, posts, revisions, reminders, and meeting students where they are.
Our vision was a graduate community that feels connected and supported;
the reality was creating spaces where even small moments of belonging matter.
The vision didn’t change — the work just became visible.
And it’s work we’re proud to do, together. 💛
