Did you know BGSU has a program that sends students on service trips during academic breaks called Bowling Green Alternative Breaks? Recently, a group of BGSU students embarked on a 7-day trip to Georgia to partner with the Georgia Appalachian Trail Club to help preserve and maintain sections of the paths, turning their spring break into a hands-on service experience.👏🌳

Congratulations to the BGSU Falcon Flight Team, who represented Bowling Green on a national stage for the third consecutive year at the NIFA competition, bringing home the Collegiate Aviation Progress Award!👏 The 2026 National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA) SAFECON in Moline, Illinois, was a six-day competition that brought together some of the top collegiate aviators in the country. At this competition, the BGSU Falcon Flight Team placed 11TH IN THE NATION, and out of nearly 500 student competitors, 13 BGSU Aviation students placed in the top 20 in 9 of 11 events! Congratulations, Falcons! ✈️

Catalina Ari chose BGSU Firelands for inclusive early childhood education.

Ari remembers her first day walking into a preschool classroom for her practicum placement. She spent one day each week with the same group of children and a mentor teacher.

On her last day, the students gave her a signed t-shirt and a photo album capturing every week she spent in the classroom.

“I will keep those mementos forever,” Ari said. “That experience means everything to me.”

Catalina Ari, a post-traditional student parent at BGSU Firelands, completed her associate degree this December on her path toward supporting students with learning needs.
