Our study abroad programs in Salzburg and Alcala are a huge part of this success!

The Dept of World Languages & Cultures reconfigured its majors and continues to thrive! Those efforts were recognized last night with a Unit Recognition Award 🎉 Our 6 specializations in the Major, 9 Minors, 8 undergrad Certificates, and 3 MA programs are here to support student success in a multilingual and multicultural world!

We are so grateful to the Thompson scholarship! Many students in our program were only able to study abroad because they received this generous financial support! I am deeply thankful, personally, that there are people on this earth who genuinely care about the next generation!

Look what was in the mail today! Our fabulous Katherina Braschel’s book is out! Congratulations and best wishes to a successful journey as an accomplished author! Katherina was our writer in resudence last year and everyone praised her engagement and lovely appearance in Bowling Green. Please congratulate her, if you get a chance!

This book could have been written about my family, as one part of it are “Donauschwaben.” I’m reading it and getting goosebumps all over!

Last week, we visited the Haus der Volkskulturen in Salzburg. Wonderful programs there about Salzburg traditions! We will be frequent visitors from now on.
