“Receiving the scholarship to serve as an Ambassador for the Ogden College of Science and Engineering means so much to me. Not only is it financial support, but it has also allowed me to form a community of like-minded individuals throughout my college career. The scholarship shows that the College believes in investing in our growth and success.” Hannah Turner is a senior from Murfreesboro, Tenn., majoring in Chemistry on the pre-Pharmacy track with a minor in American Sign Language.

It is with a heavy heart to share the news of the passing of Regina Priddy.

Regina was one of the founding members of the American Sign Language Studies Organization. She was most known for creating our first Signing Santa event. She wanted to ensure Deaf kids had a Santa that could sign. Due to her dedication and commitment, we are hosting our 14th annual Signing Santa this November. Regina opened her home and her heart to ASL students, leaders, faculty, staff and the Deaf community.

She played the role of mom, sister and friend to many within the ASL program. She commanded a room with her hilarious stories, infectious laugh and love for all. Regina, you are already missed.🤟

What a huge loss to our Deaf and ASL community. May you rest in peace, Virginia.🤟🏼

Kentucky, I have some heartbreaking news to share. Virginia Moore, the Kentuckian who taught us all the importance of leading with love and inclusion, passed away yesterday.

Virginia was a rock of stability and grace during the pandemic. She helped bring us all together in our most challenging times, so I hope you’ll join Britainy and me today in praying for all who loved her. I will miss her greatly, but as Virginia would remind us in our grief: We will get through this; we will get through this together. ^AB

While a silent picnic might not be everyone’s go-to springtime activity, there was no better way for WKU’s American Sign Language (ASL) students to end the semester.
