Rabbinic Judaism, which is the traditional Judaism of the present, observes Shavuot, translated weeks, today. The holiday is called weeks because one counts seven weeks from the Feast of First Fruits and then the following day is Shavuot. Leviticus 23:9-14 says that the Feast of First Fruits begins the day after the Sabbath. Traditional Judaism says that sabbath day is the Feast of Unleavened Bread so both feasts occur one after the other using their system. However, Jewish Christians believe that the Feast of First Fruits comes after the seventh day Sabbath. Therefore, it should be on the first day of the week. There is an important reason for this belief. The Feast of First Fruits and Resurrection Day align using the Jewish Christian method, so Jesus/Yeshua becomes the First Fruits to God by having both days in alignment.

Because Jewish Christians believe the Feast of First Fruits occurred on the first day of the week, then Shavuot should not be observed today. It should be observed this coming Sunday, the first day of the week. Evidence for this comes from the passage in Leviticus 23:9-14, which says to count off the days of the Omer. This would not be necessary if the Rabbinic method were used because Shavuot would always occur on the same date. However, using the Jewish Christian method the date changes each year, so the days of the Omer must be counted to determine the proper day to observe it.

Today is holocaust remembrance day. I am watching on Fox live a ceremony honoring Benjamin Ferenoz at the Holocaust Museum in Washington DC. Mr. Ferenoz documented the murder of more than 1,000,000 Jewish people by N**i SS leaders. Those individuals were put on trial at Nurenburg, Germany after World War II.

At 27, he became the lead prosecutor at the Nurenburg trials, where those N**i SS members were found guilty and executed. He went on to push for a world court, which now exists in Brussels, Belgium.

Mr. Ferenoz recently died at 103 years old. Today his daughter is receiving his congressional gold metal award in a ceremony at the Holocaust Museum..

We Jewish Christians find ourselves in the midst of the Passover and Resurrection Day observances. These appointments with God can be celebrated either according to the Christian or traditional Jewish calendars, because the calendar that was used at the time when Moses wrote the Hebrew Bible has been modified.

If one desires to follow the Christian calendar, then the Jewish Feast of First Fruits described in Leviticus 23:9-14 and Resurrection Day occur at the same time. This year that day is April 5, 2026. To determine the day to celebrate Passover, one must determine when Jesus/Yeshua celebrated it. He knew he was going to die before the traditional day for Passover, so according to John he held his Passover Seder one day early (John 13:1-2). Based on analysis of Mark 14:12-16, he probably celebrated it in an Essene's house. The reason being the Essenes did not have wives to carry their water jugs, and the man the disciples of Jesus/Yeshua followed carried his own water jug. If it was an Essene house, then the day he observed Passover was the day the Jewish Essene Sect had their Passover, which was the third day of the week prior to the day of the Resurrection (Mark 14:12-16). This means, like the Essenes, Jesus/Yeshua celebrated his last Passover on the Tuesday evening before Resurrection Day. This year that would be March 31, 2026.

If one desires to follow the traditional Jewish calendar, then the Feast of Unleavened Bread this year will be on the evening of April 1, 2026 and the Feast of First Fruits, Resurrection Day, will be on April 5, 2026, the first day of the week.

The second Feast of First Fruits (Leviticus 23:15-22), known both as Pentecost and Shavuot occurs 50 days from the initial Feast of First Fruits on the first day of the week (Leviticus 23:9-14). The initial Feast of First Fruits occurs at the beginning of barley harvest in Israel, and the second Feast of First Fruits occurs at the beginning of the wheat harvest in Israel. In both cases the First Fruits harvested were brought to the Great Temple at Jerusalem as a gift to the Holy One. They also provided food for the priests.

The Hebrew Scriptures command us to observe these feasts. Jewish Christian Seminary has a free Passover Seder for anyone who wishes to celebrate Passover in their home this year. This offer is available until March 31, 2026. It is copyrighted and for personal use only. To request a copy, send your name and email address to this page or to [email protected]. The Seder will be emailed to you.

For those in the United States who want a print edition containing additional information, send a $10 money order made out to Jewish Christian Seminary Inc along with your name and address to the address below but know that the seder will not arrive in time for Passover this year.

A lesson in prophecy – Revelation 11:1-2

In USA political reporting this week an interesting phenomenon was proposed by President Donald Trump. Gaza should be governed by a “Board of Peace” composed of the leaders of numerous nations. The hope being that Gaza would be developed economically and politically into a stable, peaceful, religious and economically secure enclave.

Amazingly, 2,000 years ago, the writer of Revelation prophesied that the same model would be used to provide a stable, peaceful, religious and economically secure enclave in the City of Jerusalem, prior to the return of the Jewish Messiah, Yeshua/Jesus (Revelation 11).

Revelation 11:1–2 states:

“Then I was given a measuring rod like a staff, and I was told: ‘Rise and measure the temple of God and the altar and those who worship there, but do not measure the court outside the temple; leave that out, for it is given over to the nations, and they will trample over the Holy City for forty-two months.’”

Important details concerning this prophecy include the following:

1. The Jewish Temple will be rebuilt and utilized for 3.5 years in the ancient manner, including the offering of animal sacrifices.
2. In the courtyard of the temple, Gentile activities will be occurring alongside the activities within the Jewish Temple compound.
3. Gentiles will be in political control of the City of Jerusalem.

Conditions in Jerusalem currently include the following:

1. There are a Muslim meeting place and the Dome of the Rock holy place on the Jewish Temple Mount. The Dome of the Rock is believed by Muslims to be the site where Mohammad ascended into heaven and the site of the original Jewish temple. Therefore, it is the third most holy site in all of Islam. Jewish defilement of this site would result in a holy war.
2. The nation of Israel controls the City of Jerusalem, but permits Jordan to administer the Jewish Temple Mount.
3. Jewish religious leaders desire to rebuild the Jewish temple on the temple mount and have already made preparations off-site for the temple infrastructure. However, the rebuilding of the temple is not permitted due to Muslim sensitivities.

Based on current political, cultural, and religious activity, what are the most likely circumstances that would allow the rebuilding of the temple and bring about the prophesied result?

1. Allowing Muslims to remain on the temple mount and to worship freely. The prophecy in Revelation above appears to predict this because it says gentiles will exist in the courtyard of the temple.
2. Granting Judaism access to a section of the temple mount so they could rebuild their temple. The Revelation prophecy appears to predict this.
3. Provision of a security force that would protect the rights of Muslims, Jewish people, and Christians to worship their God freely. Most likely this would be a Gentile security force. The Revelation prophecy appears to predict this.
Another apparently related prophecy, Daniel 9:27 provides additional details concerning how this situation occurs and the end result. It reads:

“And He shall make a strong covenant with many for one week; and for half the week he shall cause sacrifice and offering to cease; and upon the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed end is poured out on the desolator.”

This prophecy implies the following:

1. There will be an international agreement in which a peace force will be sent to Jerusalem to ensure freedom of religious practice on the temple mount.
2. For 3.5 years this treaty will function as intended. Muslims and Jews will worship on the temple mount in relative peace and security. This agrees with Revelations 11:1–2.
3. However, the next 3.5 years there will exist an idol of the leader of the security forces in the Temple area that will cause turmoil and unbelievable amounts of difficulties.
4. At the end, the Great Messiah returns and straightens out the crooked things.

Could this prophecy in Revelation 11:1–2 be on the verge of occurring?

According to Matthew 1:21 an angel told Joseph, who was the earthly guardian of Jesus/Yeshua, that the name of his son would be related to the concept of “he will save his people from their sins.” The Hebrew name that corresponded to this statement was Yehoshua, which relates to salvation. Therefore, his original identity was Yehoshua ben Yehoseph, or in English, Joshua son of Joseph. The short version of Yehoshua was Yeshua. The English name Jesus resulted from Yeshua being transliterated several times from language to language before it reached its English version.

Dr. James Price taught that the TETRAGRAM containing the four Hebrew consonants for the name of Father God, has the three vowels from the Hebrew word for Lord, Adonai, inserted into it. This occurred due to the command in Exodus 20:7 of the Ten Commandments that reads, “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. For the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.” The Rabbis did not want God’s name used improperly so they modified the pronunciation to prevent this from happening.

Jewish people in the synagogue say Adonai in place of the TETRAGRAM for the name of God when quoting the Shemah. Shemah is the first Hebrew word in Deuteronomy 6:4, so it is used to identify Deuteronomy 6:4 for a Hebrew speaking audience. The Shemah is quoted at every Sabbath service, and should be quoted on arising and going to bed (Deuteronomy 6:7). In some synagogues the Ten Commandments are quoted alongside the Shemah. Followers of Jesus/Yeshua should add Deuteronomy 6:5 and “Love your neighbor as yourself” alongside the Shemah, which is based on Matthew 22:36–40 and Mark 12:28-31. When Jewish people quote the Shemah, they pronounce Adonai in place of the TETRAGRAM name for God. In addition, the verbs translated into English as “is,” “are,” “being,” “am,” and “to be” are not written or pronounced when writing or speaking Hebrew because the name of God is “I am” (Exodus 3:13–15).

Dr. James Price Ph.D., who lived before the internet and personal computers in the mid-1970s, was a Hebrew Professor who received his Ph.D. degree from Hebrew Union College. He was a brilliant man with a MS in engineering, who before becoming a professor, worked for the United States government and wrote the government’s first computer program for translating Hebrew into English. That illustrates how knowledgeable he was in Hebrew.

Some English Bible translators did not know that the TETRAGRAM had been modified by using the vowels from the word Adonai , so they translated the TETRAGRAM into English as Jehovah, which is the Rabbi modified English transliteration for the TETRAGRAM not the original Biblical name.
