We recently brought the National Mobile Campus to Virginia Beach for one of our largest HALO training cohorts to date, delivering immersive, hands-on training to 50 traveling clinicians preparing for their next assignments.

Over the course of the training, participants worked alongside BPM instructors through realistic scenarios designed to strengthen clinical skills, build confidence, and prepare them for the environments they’ll encounter in the field.

The week was also a great example of what the National Mobile Campus makes possible: bringing high-quality education directly to the people and communities who need it, wherever they are.

We could not agree more USFS, well said.

Many individuals who serve on wildfire assignments aren’t fulltime firefighters. The people working essential support roles in fire camps — often earn what's known as a red card, so they can assist on fires throughout the year in addition to their normal jobs.

Every role, whether on the line or behind the scenes, is vital to our firefighting system and the protection it provides to impacted communities across the country.

We just finished reading Snowy Torrents (Knox et. al), and it reminded us that the most useful tool in a wilderness emergency is our brains. It’s important to have the right gear, but if our brains aren't sharp and prepared for an emergency in the backcountry, nothing else matters. Taking a Wilderness First Responder course prepares brains to meet emergencies with confidence and competence.

This course is designed for fishing, snowmobile, and raft guides, search and rescue personnel, volunteer fire departments, volunteer ski patrollers, serious adventurers, and side country enthusiasts.
