Music majors and non-music majors alike partici Music majors and non-music majors alike participate in the marching band and concert bands.

The Blinn College Buccaneer Band offers students an excellent opportunity to use their musical talents and, at the same time, enjoy the rewarding experience of being in a group of people with like interests. Of the 125 Blinn Band members, approximately 30 percent are actual music majors. Fifty to sixty high schools ranging from Class 1A to Class 5A are represented in the Buccaneer Band. The Buccan

eer Band is active throughout the year appearing at half-time shows during the football season, exhibition performances as a guest college band at regional and area UIL marching band contests, campus concerts, and a concert tour each spring. The band also hosts and performs at the annual Buccaneer Marching Band Festival during the fall semester. The Buccaneer Band is part of the Blinn College music department, which offers other musical outlets to instrumental students such as Piano Study, Brass Ensemble, Woodwind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Percussion Ensemble and Steel Drum Band.

Blinn College May Music Meets are taking entries! Bring your beginner, MS, JH, or HS band to perform on our stage at the W.W. O'Donnell Performing Arts Center on May 7 or 8. Great opportunity for another OPS or Honor Band Recording. Critiques done by our outstanding Blinn College Music Faculty.

The Blinn College Music Department offers small classes, one-on-one attention, practical learning, and easily accessible faculty so that students are actively engaged in a superior learning environment.
