Congratulations to Roshaun Johnson FB’26, who was named a recipient of Fairfield University's Romero Award at the Student Achievement Awards. Named after St. Oscar Romero of El Salvador, the award recognizes a student in the associate’s degree program who exemplifies the spirit of a Catholic, Jesuit education through academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to service.

"After graduating high school, I was unsure of what the future held for me regarding pursuing higher education. Bellarmine was my lifeline that gave me the opportunity to pursue my passion at an affordable price. I immediately fell in love with the campus, the staff, and all they had to offer. This award is a testament to the arduous effort that I have dedicated to my academics and community involvement… [and reflects] the continuous support and love that the Bellarmine community has poured into me over the last two years.” - Roshaun Johnson FB’26

Through Fairfield Arts Excursions, an Arts Institute grant-funded program within the Fairfield University John Charles Meditz College of Arts and Sciences, a group of Fairfield Bellarmine students had the opportunity to visit the MoMA The Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

Students encountered works they had previously studied in class with Ryan Harper, PhD, assistant professor of the practice in religious studies, in his course on art and Afro-Caribbean religions.

Fairfield Bellarmine students recently spent the day in Hartford, taking learning beyond the classroom, exploring government at the State Capitol and the arts at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art.

From a Judiciary Committee hearing at the State Capitol and a conversation with State Representative and Fairfield alumnus Steven Stafstrom '05 to a guided visit at the Wadsworth with Anne Rice, the museum's Director of Education, students experienced a dynamic and informative day that brought classroom learning into real-world settings.
