Join the AI Summit Virtual Sessions! 🌟

On April 1st, don’t miss out on an exciting series of virtual sessions as part of BSU's AI Summit, "AI in Action: Building a Human-Centered Future."

Kick off at 1:00 PM with the keynote "Teaching to Transgress...the Algorithm," featuring Dr. Tiera Tanksley, who will delve into the intersection of AI, equity, and education. From 2:05 to 3:30 PM, participate in interactive Zoom workshops covering topics such as AI in the classroom, Blackboard Ultra's AI tools, curriculum mapping, and more.

It's free, virtual, and a fantastic opportunity to discover how AI is influencing higher education. All sessions will be recorded and shared with registered participants, so even if you can’t attend live, sign up to access everything!

🎉 We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the brand new MyBSU! 🚀 This updated site gives students a fresh, user-friendly platform to access all the information you need, right when you need it. The new MyBSU is here to replace the old Student Portal and offers seamless access to key links from the InfoBear menu! 🙌

Check out these amazing features:

✨ Top left-hand hamburger menu (three horizontal lines next to “Bridgewater State University”) expands to give you quick access to a treasure trove of resources!
✨ InfoBear Card – Access your Student Profile and an updated links menu for easy navigation through Registration & Planning, Degree Works, View Grades, and SO much more!
✨ Holds Active on your Account Card, Degree Works Card, Class Schedule Card, Student Accounts Card, Financial Aid Card, and Personal Information Card replace retired features. If you don’t see a card on your dashboard, just look for “View all Cards” on the left-hand side and bookmark it!
✨ Introducing Smart Class Cancellations – your new go-to card for updates, replacing an old feature from the current Student Portal.

🎉 Blackboard has a new look today!

An overnight update was applied during the January maintenance on 1/8, and the refreshed interface is now live.

What you’ll notice
✅ Cleaner Base Navigation (Profile is now at the top; Sign Out is at the bottom)
✅ Ultra courses now open in full-screen view (more space, less clutter)
✅ Home button replaces the “X” to exit a course
✅ Course ID and title are more prominent in the header and banner
✅ Course Switcher to jump to four most recent courses or go to the full Courses page

Resolved - We are happy to report that Blackboard has confirmed that most services impacted by this morning’s Amazon Web Services (AWS) outage have been restored. They are continuing to work actively with AWS to resolve any remaining disruptions. Please be aware that some features may still experience slowness or temporary unavailability over the next few hours as full service is restored.

WEPA printing was restored earlier this afternoon.

We will continue to monitor these services and provide an update if they experience additional instability or widespread unavailability.

Blackboard continues to experience intermittent issues following this morning’s Amazon Web Services (AWS) outage. Some features, including grading tools and inline commenting, are showing signs of recovery, while others may still be slow or temporarily unavailable.
Blackboard has confirmed that partial service restoration is underway and they are actively working with AWS to resolve the remaining disruptions.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as systems recover.
