🎬 Lights, Camera, Learning! 🎥

Students in Dr. Christina Hodel’s () cinematography class took an exciting field trip to BTV—Bridgewater’s local public access TV station—and got an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at how television and sports broadcasting really work!

From exploring a real soundstage and green screen to checking out professional cameras and even the mobile broadcasting van 🚐📡, students got hands-on insight into the technical and creative sides of the industry.

Public access spaces like BTV are amazing resources that provide students with real-world exposure, access to broadcast-quality equipment, and potential opportunities for internships, collaborations, and community storytelling.

Thinking about studying media and film? Opportunities like this are just one of the many ways our students step out of the classroom and into the field.

🥋💥 That’s a wrap on Think Tank Café—and we went out with a BANG thanks to John “Doomsday” Howard!

From powerful self-defense moves to even more powerful life lessons, John reminded us that resilience, discipline, and belief in yourself can change everything. Whether you're in the ring or in the classroom, his message hit hard: Stay focused, stay grounded, and never count yourself out.

This event marked the final installment of our Eat, Create, Elevate: Think Tank Café series—a huge THANK YOU to Dr. Melanie McNaughton (.joy.mcnaughton) and Dr. Christina Hodel () for securing the Catalyst Grant and making this incredible lineup of speakers possible. 🙌

From fighters to media changemakers, every guest brought something unique, inspiring, and totally relatable—no matter your major or background. We learned, we laughed, we ate well... and we grew together as a campus community.

Until next time... 💡🍽️

🎬✨ Breakfast + Behind the Scenes = A Killer Combo

Eat, Create, Elevate: Think Tank Café #4 was a whole experience yesterday! We kicked off the morning with breakfast and badass cinematographer Lynn Weisman ()🎥💡

She brought the 🔥, showing off her lighting setups, broke down how to survive (and thrive) on set, spilled tea on working with egos, and gave us a hands-on demo with C-stands (pro tip: counterbalance = lifesaver 🙌).

Lynn, you lit us up—literally and creatively. THANK YOU for sharing your wisdom, skills, and realness. We learned SO much and had a blast!

✨ One more Café left this Monday—don’t miss it! Stay tuned for details.
