Please consider to join us for a performative presentation and discussion by multimedia artist Cesar Schofield Cardoso on the theme of Cabo Verde and the ocean: "The Belly of the Boat is an audiovisual performance that unfolds from Cesar Schofield Cardoso's ongoing process of thinking through and making work about the ocean in Cabo Verde: a place marked by historical violence, human and more-than-human agencies, and ongoing extraction. The piece moves between past and present, with particular attention to the whaling era and its ties to the Cabo Verdean diaspora in Massachusetts."
