Go Gree - I mean...Make Your Wave! ❤💛

Bay Mills Community College was honored to welcome Michigan State University Extension and AgBioResearch leadership and State Advisory Council to campus during their recent Upper Peninsula visit.

Council members had the opportunity to tour both the Waishkey Bay Farm and the Bay Mills Community College campus, gaining insight into the innovative programs, partnerships, and community-based initiatives that support education, agriculture, and Tribal communities. The visit highlighted the important work taking place at BMCC under the leadership of Dr. Stephen Yanni, BMCC Land Grant Director, and the BMCC Land Grant team.

Michigan is home to four land-grant institutions of higher education, including Michigan State University (1862 land-grant) and three Tribal colleges recognized as 1994 land-grant institutions: Bay Mills Community College, Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa Community College, and Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College.

Together, our institutions established the Michigan Inter-Tribal Land Grant Extension System (MILES) to strengthen support for Tribal Nations, communities, and learners through a collaborative model built on shared knowledge, resources, and leadership.

Bay Mills Community College and MSU Extension and AgBioResearch have a long history of mutual support and collaboration, including most recently when MSU Extension Tribal Extension Educator, Biidaaban Reinhardt assisted at the Fall Fest at Waishkey Bay Farm.
