🎓A PINNING TO REMEMBER

Today, we proudly celebrated our nursing graduates at King University’s Nursing Pinning Ceremony — a milestone made even more meaningful by the family, friends, faculty, and mentors who helped them reach this moment.

Receiving their nursing pins represents more than completing their time in King’s nursing program. It represents a promise to carry the heart of nursing with them wherever they go.

In one of the most meaningful moments of the ceremony, our graduates’ hands were washed clean and blessed for the healing work ahead — a reminder of the sacred responsibility they will carry as they care for their future patients.

We are so proud of our newest King nurses! Your next chapter is just beginning, and we can’t wait to see the lives you’ll impact through your knowledge, compassion, and Christ-centered care. 🩺

What a start to the semester at King University! 🌪️

Since our students arrived on campus, our community has already experienced a semester full of connection, learning, celebration, and opportunities to grow in faith.

Our students had the chance to meet those who help keep our community safe during Coffee with the Bristol TN Chief of Police and our Security Team. Our nursing students began their journey together with orientation, meeting their cohorts and getting to know their faculty.

Our Welcome Back Bash brought students, faculty, staff, and their families together on the Oval for an evening of yard games, The Traveling Bear mini golf, inflatables, and a foam party that was a hit with the kids! 🎉

We also had the opportunity to catch up with Artist in Residence Aaron Blake during his Masterclass at Mountain Mission School. Their choir shared worship music with such joy and talent—it was a beautiful reminder of the gifts God has placed within our communities. 🎶

To start this week, President Tooley joined Dr. Martin Dotterweich for Part One of the four-part series, "Life of the Mind," inviting our community to thoughtfully consider what it means to develop a mind shaped by faith.

So much has already happened, and we’re grateful for every opportunity God has given us to learn, serve, connect, and grow together.

The semester is just getting started, and we can’t wait to see what God’s journey has in store for the King community. 🙏💙

We are definitely happier. 💙

It’s being back on campus. It’s meeting new roommates and making new friends. It’s discovering more of Bristol. It’s saying yes to Launch weekend and the countless moments that make King feel like home.

But beyond the excitement of a new semester, there’s something deeper behind the smiles we’re seeing across campus: a community coming together, growing in faith, and stepping into a new year with purpose.

We’re grateful for all that God has in store for our students, faculty, and staff this year. Here’s to new beginnings, meaningful connections, and a community rooted in Christ. ✝️

Renewing Our Minds with Wisdom

President Andy Tooley, Ph.D., opened the academic year at King University’s Opening Convocation with a reflection on this year’s university Scripture, Romans 12:2: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

President Tooley challenged our students to resist the pressure to be shaped by the patterns of the present age and instead allow God to renew both their minds and hearts through scripture, prayer, academic study, and Christian community.

Drawing from the examples of Joseph, Daniel, Esther, the early Church, and William Wilberforce, he emphasized that faithful presence means neither withdrawing from the world nor being shaped by it, but living within it with wisdom, courage, and conviction.

As we begin a new academic year, may we remain rooted in Christ, love God and our neighbors, and faithfully serve wherever He has placed us. Our calling is not simply to be effective, but to be faithful—and to point others toward Christ in all that we do.
