Big things are happening for Journalism student Paul Valenti! This semester, Paul is interning with the Buffalo Bills in their events and services department, getting hands-on experience with one of the NFL's most electric fan atmospheres.

We love seeing our students take what they learn in the department and run with it, straight onto the field.

It may be the first day of fall term, but we're taking it back to 2001 - before Kim Young was teaching at Brockport, she was the news anchor at WSEE-TV 35 with Bill Schubert. Some things never change, and she still brings that same energy to our classrooms, Talon TV, and the Stylus today!

Class of 2022 alum Gio Battaglia encouraged students to take advantage of all opportunities offered at SUNY Brockport as featured guest speaker at the First-Year Kickoff Saturday at the SERC. Gio is WROC-TV Digital Content Producer and host of the entertainment interview program “Behind the Curtain.”

Brockport 2015 Journalism Alumnus Nick Reynolds appeared on CNN with Wolf Blitzer this week to talk South Carolina politics, which he covers as Politics Reporter for The Post and Courier in Charleston. Nick is a member of the Department’s Journalism Alumni Advisory Board.

Check out what recent graduate Lucy Crounse is up to!

Say hello to one of our newest alums: Lucy Crounse 👋

After spending her time at Brockport building experience through internships, journalism, and networking, Lucy is heading to Brooklyn to begin her role as a Constituent Liaison for New York State Senator Roxanne Persaud.

Originally planning to follow a traditional journalism path, Lucy discovered through hands-on experiences that her interests were leading her toward government and public relations instead. Determined to break into the field, she spent months cold emailing state senators across New York before finally landing the opportunity that launched her career.

Now, she’ll be connecting with community members, representing the Senator’s office at local events, and helping constituents access resources and support.
