We host numerous receptions and events around the state and country all of the time? (Would you like to host one?)

Your membership in the BAA provides you with discounts for fitness memberships and library services on campus and car insurance rates around the country, to name just a few. Your support allows us to award more than $15,000 each year in scholarships for legacy students. We host a FREE reception at Alumni House the “First Friday” of every month during the school year? Say hello to one of our newest alums: Lucy Crounse 👋

After spending her time at Brockport building experience through internships, journalism, and networking, Lucy is heading to Brooklyn to begin her role as a Constituent Liaison for New York State Senator Roxanne Persaud.

Originally planning to follow a traditional journalism path, Lucy discovered through hands-on experiences that her interests were leading her toward government and public relations instead. Determined to break into the field, she spent months cold emailing state senators across New York before finally landing the opportunity that launched her career.

Now, she’ll be connecting with community members, representing the Senator’s office at local events, and helping constituents access resources and support.

Say hello to one of our newest alums: Miya Vitale 👋

A first-generation nursing major with a minor in biology, Miya graduated with a record of leadership, compassion, and service both on campus and in the community.

Her dedication to excellence earned her the School of Nursing Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award, selection as the 2026 senior nursing representative, and recognition as a President’s Citation Award winner — the University’s highest student honor. 💚

A four-year member of the Swimming and Diving team, Miya also made her mark in athletics as a school record holder, team captain, and president of the Barbell Club. Along the way, she balanced academics, research, campus involvement, and hands-on healthcare experience at Rochester General Hospital.

Next stop: Miya plans to begin her career as a Pediatric Orthopedic Nurse. ➡️🩺

Say hello to one of our newest alums: Logan Jewell 👋

Logan graduated with degrees in meteorology and mathematics, a 3.99 GPA, and a long list of accomplishments that reflect his passion for research, leadership, and learning. 🎓

During his time at , he presented atmospheric science research at regional conferences, worked with NASA’s Student Airborne Research Program, and conducted satellite imagery research at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.

Outside the classroom, Logan served in multiple leadership roles with club gymnastics and supported fellow students as a mathematics tutor at the Academic Success Center.

In recognition of his achievements, Logan was selected as this year’s President’s Citation Award winner, the University’s highest student honor. 🏆

Next up: ➡️ Penn State, where Logan will pursue his PhD in meteorology.

Say hello to one of our newest alums: Anaheysha Baptiste-White 👋

A dual major in dance and public health, Anaheysha graduates from Brockport as a performer, educator, and advocate dedicated to using movement to build stronger communities.

As a leader within Brockport’s Sankofa African Dance & Drum Ensemble and a company member of Atebayilla West African Dance Company, Anaheysha has helped share cultural traditions through performances, touring, and instruction.

Through an internship with the YMCA’s Livestrong program, Anaheysha developed movement classes designed to help cancer survivors rebuild strength, confidence, and community through dance.

Anaheysha earned this year’s Garth Fagan Legacy Award, which recognizes students who embody the spirit, artistry, and impact of legendary choreographer Garth Fagan. 💚

Say hello to one of our newest alums: Mario Tantalo 👋

Through coursework, leadership in the Cybersecurity Club, industry certifications, and faculty-supported research, Mario developed the experience and confidence to launch his career as a NOC Network Engineer at Brite after graduation.

One of the defining moments of his time at Brockport was conducting cybersecurity research focused on ransomware alongside faculty mentor Dr. Green — work that will be presented at the HCI International Conference in Montreal this summer.

Say hello to one of our newest alums: Emily Burritt 👋

After working with the Buffalo-based agency, Crowley Webb, Emily continued building her experience through Brockport Brand Builders, experiential learning courses, and a second internship that eventually led to a full-time offer as a PR Account Coordinator.

Now, Emily is stepping into the industry working with major clients and continuing to grow alongside a team that already believed in her potential before graduation.
