Massasoit Community College has been awarded $319,504 through the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center’s (MLSC) competitive Postsecondary Education and Training Grant Program.
This award enhances Massasoit’s Life Sciences Research Skills Micro-Credentialing Program, a workforce-focused initiative designed to prepare students for careers in the biotechnology and life sciences industries by providing industry-aligned laboratory and research training, by adding advanced cell culture and microscopy training.
Part of a $12.3 million statewide workforce initiative announced by the Healey-Driscoll Administration, the grant builds on last fall's $253,128 MLSC capital award to equip students with critical, industry-aligned laboratory skills.
Through this investment, the program strengthens the regional talent pipeline and supports the continued growth of the Commonwealth’s life sciences ecosystem.
The award reflects Massasoit’s growing momentum; in Fiscal Year 2026, the college secured over $7 million in grant funding—a nearly 40% increase year-over-year dedicated to advancing student success and workforce development.
