Every performance, event, or concert is an opportunity to make an impact. 🎶

Anna Stemsrud, program assistant and hospitality coordinator for South Dakota State University's Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center, is being recognized for that impact in her selection to the prestigious International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) 30|UNDER|30 Class of 2026 🤩

As the sole South Dakota honoree in the 2026 class, Stemsrud was selected from a competitive field of nominees after completing a rigorous selection process that included a leadership nomination, written application, essay and live video submission.

“This recognition reflects Anna's dedication to creating outstanding experiences for patrons, performers and guests while continually advancing her professional expertise and leadership within the industry,” said Christina Castillo, Larson Family Endowed Director of the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center.

2026 COMMENCEMENT INFO — WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW! 🎓

Location: First Bank & Trust Arena
Ceremony times: 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. (by college)

Doors open one hour before each ceremony; seating is first-come, first-served. Clear bags are encouraged. Graduates received six guest tickets; be sure to transfer and download them in advance. No re-entry once inside. Campus parking is free. Recommended lots include 158, 159, 160, 163 and 164.

Celebrate across campus with scenic photo spots, dining locations, Jackrabbit Central, museums and more. Plus, students and their guests enjoy free admission to McCrory Gardens all weekend.

Can’t attend in person? A livestream will be available online, along with viewing locations at the University Student Union and McCrory Gardens.

This isn't your typical event 👇

This multidisciplinary event combines the talents of four SDSU departments and features live dance performances, evolving paintings created on-site, live music and wearable art that moves through the crowd.

But the real focus is the audience. Visitors won’t just watch, they’ll participate. Attendees can expect hands-on opportunities to create their own artwork, contribute to collaborative pieces, and even leave with something they’ve made.

After more than two decades of shaping voices and elevating the choral program, Dr. Laura Di**le is retiring from the South Dakota State University - School of Performing Arts.

From leading Concert Choir and Choralia to mentoring generations of students, her impact reaches far beyond the stage. Many of her students have gone on to perform at the highest levels, while others carry her influence into classrooms, communities and everyday life.

“At the heart of it, I hope I helped people shine: students finding their voices, colleagues building something worthwhile together, and the arts continuing to flourish as a visible and valued part of this community,” said Di**le.
