Meet a Dean’s Scholar: Francis Cain

Francis is an LIU Psychology student in The Richard L. Conolly College of the Liberal Arts and Science in Brooklyn, New York. Francis is a Dean’s Scholar with a profound commitment to making a difference. A youth advocate and he focuses on advancing youth empowerment. With international experiences, he has had the opportunity to deliver inspirational talks. Francis said, “I always knew I had a mission to serve others and to make a positive impact in the community, the nation, and around the world.” In Fall 2020, Francis co-created a listening session on “Academics in the Time of COVID” where the Dean’s Scholars convened LIU students, listened, shared, and reflected on experiences, their resilience, and progress.

With the goal of earning a doctorate in psychology, and becoming an author and motivational speaker, Francis is committed to making a positive impact in the world by serving others, bridging generational gaps, breaking cultural barriers, and providing hope for all, one location and a time. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, the last of five children of a Pastor from Belize.

A Two-Week Immersive Virtual and In-Person Academy
July 11 - 24, 2021

The Global Summit brings together motivated and engaged young people (ages 16-19) from globally diverse backgrounds to build lifelong connections, develop skills, and advance toward academic goals in a participatory, dynamic, and safe environment.

In-Person and Virtual Participants will experience:
*Immersive Learning: Simulations and hands-on projects with the Dassault Systèmes 3Ds Platform

*Global Leaders Workshops: Interactive challenge simulations, Model United Nations, and diplomacy

*STEM Courses: Research skills and hands-on science lab experiences

*21st Century Skills Workshops: Teamwork, critical thinking and communication skills

*University Preparation & Academic English: Writing skills and university readiness

Global Summit Cost:
Global Virtual Participant (remote access only): $350
In-person Participant (includes meals and all activities) : $2,200*
In-person Participant (includes meals, all activities, and double occupancy housing): $3,200*
