Earlier this month, ITP/IMA faculty Tom Igoe and ITP student B Wu traveled to Light Symposium in Wismar, Germany to present their research on spectral sensing tools and their usability/accessibility for lighting designers and design students. 💡

This year’s theme was “Responsible Lighting”, and many of the talks dealt with night time light pollution and its effect on the environment. Swipe for photos from the presentation and from a workshop where students designed night time lighting for the garden of a local church. ⛪

Their presentation was a collaboration with Georgios Triantafyllidis at Aalborg University in Copenhagen.

🎨 IMA alum Tori DelValle () has been announced as the first Artist in Residence at Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción () in over a decade!

“Tori, a talented Puerto Rican visual artist, designer, and educator with deep generational ties to IBA’s Villa Victoria community, will spearhead efforts to engage their affordable housing community and program participants through impactful, culturally responsive art projects. Her award-winning, multidisciplinary work delves into themes of identity, generational trauma, hidden truths, childhood, culture, and heritage, uniquely positioning her to enrich and strengthen her role at IBA.”

The culmination of her residency will be a collaborative art installation with the Villa Victoria community, titled *From Protests to Pride: Generations of Villa Victoria*. This project will enhance Latino representation in Boston’s art scene and provide creative outlets for residents and youth to explore identity, culture, social issues and well-being through art.
