Shout out to the lovely ladies of Pi Theta Chi, from HPU, for stepping WAY outside of their comfort zones, in order to learn a little about jiu jitsu, and self preparedness! These classes always start with a lot of nervous laughter and hesitance, but switched to cheers and high fives, in no time.
Bullet points of the day:
*SITUATIONAL AWARENESS- be aware, stay out of your phone, scan as you walk, carry and use a flashlight, parking considerations and approaching your vehicle, etc.
*There is no technique that you can learn, in 2 hours, and then recall and perform, under stress, without consistent training and repetition. We showed some really cool techniques, for turning the tables on an attacker who grabs you by the hair, by the body, or throws you to the ground to pin you, and they are all very effective, but, as we demostrated, at the end of class, no one felt comfortable enough with their undertanding, to even demonstrate technique, for the class. Regular training and repetition is critical, for the proficiency needed to perform these techniques, under pressure.
Thanks, again, to the ladies, for coming in!
I hosted this seminar, at no charge, because of my passion for jiu jitsu, and my STRONG belief, that everyone should be training, but, especially ladies. If you have a group, that you would like to bring in, send us a message, and let's talk about it!
