Ravi Zacharias International Ministries issued an apology Thursday as it announced the results of a monthslong independent investigation in which victims claimed the late Christian apologist engaged in “s*xting, unwanted touching, spiritual abuse, and r**e” during his life.

Re: PA Emergency Amendment

There is a surprising new development! We just heard from Governor Wolf’s Office that an emergency amendment process has begun.

The House has amended another constitutional amendment sure to pass with the window language. It is an “emergency amendment” procedure. The House is set to vote on it tomorrow.

We need folks to email House members ASAP in support of Amendment 000293 of Senate Bill 2. This would make it possible to have the referendum and passage this year.

PS. If the emergency amendment fails, we will be back to the statutory approach.

Below is the text of an email you can easily copy and paste to the legislators listed below. Please also send the email to your own State Representative.

Subject: Support for Amendment 00293 of SB2

Dear Representative _____________:

I was heartbroken when the constitutional amendment for child s*x abuse survivors failed. Please do not make us wait another two years for justice.

I am writing to ask you to support amendment 00293 to Senator Ward’s bill, SB2, and to do it soon. We have waited since 2005 for justice for the victims of Pennsylvania. Even more important, the citizens of Pennsylvania don’t know about many hidden predators and responsible institutions, because a window law has never passed.

Just under half (48%) of all US adults surveyed believe that s*xual abuse is more prevalent among Catholic clerics; whereas the other half (47%) believe that clergy s*xual abuse is of equal prevalence in other denominations.

This brief literature review is a call for the Christian church to hit reverse, and once again (or for once) courageously lead the way.
