Feminist icon Gloria Steinem passed away yesterday at the age of 92. Bryn Mawr students shared a number of special moments with Steinem over the years including at an on-campus lecture and book signing in 2000. In 2011, a number of students traveled to Washington, D.C. to hear Steinem and other women leaders speak at the launch of the Women in Public Service Project, an initiative of then U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in collaboration with the Seven Sisters Colleges to build gender equity in public service.

We've kicked off the start of another new school year at Bryn Mawr! At Convocation yesterday, we celebrated our seniors and welcomed our new students, including 374 first years 💙 14 transfer students 🏫 11 GSAS doctoral students 📜 75 postbacs ⚕️and 94 social work students 🤝. These clubs, including those that make up the Alliance of Multicultural Organizations (AMOs), shape the student experience, spread connection, and help students find community. The remarkable strength of Bryn Mawr's alumnae/i network was once again demonstrated this year by their generosity to the College, as seen in an increase in donors, particularly among new alumni. Additionally, reunion classes welcomed nearly 500 additional donors to support Bryn Mawr in honor of their Reunion, a powerful testament to the enduring strength, generosity, and pride of the Bryn Mawr community. Thank you to everyone who helps us prepare the next generation of Mawrters who will change the world.
