Austin Air

Austin Air Clinically proven HEPA and activated carbon air purifiers with a 5-year filter life. Austin Air has been improving indoor air quality since 1990. Why us? No bias.

The way we live is changing. As we spend more time at home, the need for clean air, free from contaminants has never been more important. Here at Austin Air, we understand that choosing the right air purifier, to protect you and your family, is a big decision. You can’t see indoor pollutants and you can’t see airborne viruses. You need to know the air purifier you choose will protect you and your

loved ones, without you even knowing it. So, the big question is Why Austin? We are the only air purifier proven to remove pollutants in independent clinical trials. Carried out by leading university hospitals. We had no involvement in the trials. No influence. In government tests we outperformed over 100 other air purifiers. This led to work with FEMA and the American Red Cross during some of America’s most challenging times, including 9-11, Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Sandy, and the 2015 SolCal gas leak in California. We are the only air purifier with a 5-year filter life. No other air purifier comes close to this. No expensive filter changes, just plug your Austin in and let it run. We are the only air purifier using 60 sq. ft. of True Medical Grade HEPA. There are lots of air purifiers using Medical Grade HEPA. But it’s only a fraction of the HEPA that we use. This ensures a long filter life and the effective removal of viruses*, bacteria and allergens. We are the only air purifier to use 780 cubic inches of Activated Carbon. Activated Carbon can also be found in lots of other air purifiers. But nothing close to 780 cubic inches. This guarantees your home will be free from chemicals and VOC’s. We are the only air purifier constructed using solid steel and a non-toxic powder coated paint. No plastic, no polystyrene, no off gassing. This year we celebrate 30 years of clean air. 30 years of protecting our customers. 30 years of ensuring the air you breathe is clean, safe and free from contaminants. For more information, contact us today to learn more about our units and how we can help protect you and your family.

*Covid-19 is a new strain of virus that as yet, remains untested. However, the Medical Grade HEPA technology used in our filters is proven to remove up to 95% of all airborne contaminants as small as 0.1 microns.

Last week our marketing Director, Stacy Malesiewski, was in Orlando at the American Thoracic Society International Conference — one of the largest gatherings of respiratory medicine experts in the world. 13,000 clinicians, researchers, and pulmonologists all focused on one thing: helping people breathe better.

Austin Air was the only air purifier company in the room.

And while the dedication in that building was extraordinary, one thing stood out. Some of the brightest minds in respiratory medicine still struggling to explain why certain asthma patients are "chronically triggered." Still centering the conversation almost entirely on medication.

We know what triggers asthma. It's in the air. And prevention has to be part of the conversation.

Read Stacy’s ATS recap about what it means for the future of respiratory health and why organizations like Environmental Medicine Education International are doing the critical work of bridging the gap between environmental exposure and clinical practice.

If you're a patient, a parent, or a clinician — this one's worth reading.

They bought an Austin Air HealthMate to clear the chemical smell. They never stopped running it.

"We bought our air machine back in 2001 directly from Austin Air when we first moved into our home in California. We ran the filter continuously for about 2 weeks to deal with the chemical smells of new carpet and paint. After that, we ran our machine all night long EVERY night. I have terrible allergies and couldn't sleep without it. After living there for about eight years, we moved to Alaska. So we shipped this machine all the way up there and ran it non-stop there for 7 years. We then moved again from Alaska and shipped it all the way to our new home in the lower 48. So for 18 years plus, we have ran this machine every night and never had a problem with the motor. I don't have one appliance that I have owned that has lasted that long. The filters…they last five years… I can't recommend this filter machine enough. It really has been worth the investment."

— MAIOSH, real Austin Air customer. HealthMate owner since 2001.

California. Alaska. Back to the lower 48. Shipped across the country twice. Run every single night for over 18 years. Still going.

That is not a product. That is a partner.

Most appliances don't survive one move. This one survived three — and kept doing its job through all of them. Through new carpet off-gassing, through Alaska winters, through allergies that made sleep impossible without it. Through 18 years of every night without a single motor problem.

Her name was Laurel Griggs. She was 13 years old. She had already performed on Broadway. She had her entire life ahead of her.

On November 4, 2019, she suffered a massive asthma attack that took her life.

Sunday, May 24th, was Asthma and Anaphylaxis Remembrance Day. This blog is for her — and for the 455,000 others we lose every single year. That’s more than 1,000 people every single day. The majority of these deaths are preventable.

Throughout May, we've been publishing the research — on what causes asthma to develop, what triggers attacks, and what families can actually do to reduce risk. Because education is the only path to prevention. And prevention is the only way to truly honor the people we have lost.

If this day means something to you — if a name comes to mind when you read it — here is what you can do:

Share this post with someone who needs it. Learn the risk factors. Act on your indoor air. Support the families still fighting. And if you work in health, environmental medicine, or have a platform and a voice — consider joining us. Our dealer and affiliate networks exist for people who believe clean air should be a standard, not a luxury.

Kevin's wife was getting one upper respiratory infection after another.

Then they got an Austin Air HealthMate.

"My wife has several airborne allergies, and she was getting upper respiratory infections. Since we got the Austin HealthMate my wife has not been sick since. I will be buying another one soon so that I can have another one in another part of the house."

— Kevin, real Austin Air customer.

Not less sick. Not a little better.

Not sick since.

That is what happens when you stop managing symptoms and start addressing what is actually in the air. Airborne allergens don't announce themselves. They don't stay in one room. They circulate quietly through the spaces where your family breathes every day — and for people with sensitivities, the cumulative effect shows up as exactly what Kevin's wife was experiencing. Infection after infection. No clear explanation. No end in sight.

Until the air changed.

Kevin is already buying a second one. Because once you know, you can't unknow it.

All month, we've been telling the truth about asthma.

The statistics. The prenatal risk factors. The mold in homes and schools. The mothers who refused to accept a broken system.

But awareness without action is just noise.

So today, we want to talk about the people turning awareness into action—every single day, in communities across the country.

Over 1,400 of them.

Austin Air has one of the most diverse dealer networks in the industry—and what makes it remarkable isn't the size. It's who these people are. Environmental testing companies who go into homes and find what no one else found. Functional medicine practitioners integrating clean air into whole-body treatment plans for mold-sensitive asthma patients. Acupuncturists running Austin Air purifiers in every treatment room. Allergy specialists receiving direct referrals from pulmonologists. Organic bedding retailers helping families build sleep environments that no longer work against them. Vacuum shops in Utah whose owners use Austin Air in their own homes because they've seen firsthand what it does for their family's asthma and allergies.

Different businesses. Different industries. Different communities.

One conviction: clean air changes lives.

And the results they're seeing reflect that conviction. A family in Tampa told by their allergist that their options were exhausted—who found relief within a week and went on to buy four more units for relatives going through chemotherapy. A child sleeping through the night for the first time in years. A woman with mold in her home who had something protecting her respiratory health while she figured out how to get out. Client after client reporting fewer asthma symptoms, fewer headaches, better sleep, and a quality of daily life they had stopped believing was possible.

This is what a grassroots movement looks like. Not a campaign. Not a hashtag. Fifteen hundred businesses showing up in their communities with knowledge, conviction, and tools that actually work.

And the movement is growing.

If you are a clinician, a functional medicine practitioner, an environmental health professional, a building inspector, or any kind of business owner whose clients are navigating asthma, allergies, mold illness, or chemical sensitivities—there is a place for you in this network. Becoming an Austin Air dealer means joining a community of professionals committed to something bigger than a product line. It means being the person in your community who has the answer when a family has run out of options.

And if you have a platform—a following, an audience, a community that trusts your voice—our affiliate program is built for you. Asthma affects 28.2 million Americans. The information gap about indoor air quality and asthma risk is enormous. Your reach could be the reason a family finally understands what is making their child sick.

The work isn't finished. But with 1,400 dealers, a growing affiliate network, and a community that refuses to accept this disease as inevitable—we are closer than we have ever been.

They don’t just see your home… they smell it.

When buyers walk into your home, their first impression isn’t just visual—it’s invisible.

Air quality sets the tone instantly. A fresh, clean environment signals that your home is well cared for. But heavy candles, plug-ins, and artificial scents? They can trigger headaches, sensitivities, and one lingering question: “What are they trying to cover up?”

Today’s buyers are more aware than ever. Many prefer a home that simply feels clean—no fragrances, no distractions.

If you’re staging your home to sell, don’t mask the air. Clean, purified air creates a space that feels healthier, more inviting, and more trustworthy from the moment they walk in.

Because when the air feels right… everything else does too.

A nearby wildfire. And then — a spring day.

"This machine is amazing. We used it after a nearby wildfire and started it in the bedroom. After a short while, we went in and it smelled like a spring day. After that, my wife noticed the odor put off by the computer equipment in her office and started running it in there... it literally takes that 'electronics off-gas' stink out of the air."

— V., real Austin Air customer.

That last part is worth pausing on. Most people think air purifiers are for dust and pollen. But the off-gassing from electronics, furniture, and synthetic materials is one of the most overlooked sources of indoor air pollution — and it is happening in your home right now whether you can smell it or not.

Wildfire smoke. Electronics off-gas. VOCs from everyday materials. One machine. One solution.

A study at Cincinnati Children's Hospital found that children with asthma had fewer unplanned ER visits per year.

Just from running an air purifier in their bedroom and living room.

Not a new medication. Not a different inhaler. A purifier. Running quietly while they slept.

We know this because Austin Air was the purifier in that study. And it's one of seven independent clinical trials — at institutions including Johns Hopkins University — that have put our products to the test.

Seven trials. Seven positive outcomes. No other air purifier company in the world can say that.

If you have an asthmatic child and you haven't addressed the air in their bedroom, that's the place to start. 💙

Every mother in this story knows the moment.

You're sitting across from another doctor. The tests say normal. Your child is anything but. Someone uses the word "anxiety." And something in you goes quiet and certain all at once: No. I know my child. Something is wrong.

That voice is what this is about.

And science — it turns out — is on your side.

Researchers at Yale have confirmed that pregnancy, breastfeeding, and early caregiving trigger measurable hormonal shifts that sharpen a mother's attunement to her child's needs. Neuroscientists have found that a woman's brain undergoes more structural change during early motherhood than at any other point in her life — including adolescence. The areas responsible for threat detection, empathy, and emotional processing are physically reorganized. Your brain is literally rewired to notice things before they become crises.

And this rewiring isn't exclusive to mothers who give birth. Research shows that foster and adoptive mothers experience comparable hormonal changes — driven not by pregnancy, but by the act of caregiving itself. As Yale's Dr. Helena Rutherford put it: motivation to care is enough.

What mothers build through thousands of small moments of close attention — watching, responding, noticing — is something no 15-minute doctor's appointment can replicate. Scientists call it tacit knowledge. An understanding built through intimacy that doesn't always travel through the conscious mind. It's not magic. But it is real.

This Mother's Day, we're honoring the mothers who trusted that voice when the medical system told them not to.

The mother who spent seven years removing every chemical from her home after doctors said her son's brain damage was irreversible. He recovered fully and went to the Naval Academy.

The mother whose baby screamed for months in a house full of toxic mold — until she left, and within three weeks, her daughter simply stopped.

The mother who turned down an NDA from a military housing contractor, took her fight to Capitol Hill, and helped change federal law.

And the pediatrician who started truly listening to mothers — and rebuilt her entire practice around what they were telling her.

In every story, the answer wasn't found in standard labs or standard appointments. It was found because a mother kept saying: something is wrong.

If that's you — you are not overreacting. You are not a hypochondriac. You are not the problem.

You are a mother. And that knowing is worth more than they've been telling you.
