Genome Day is an annual event sponsored by UB’s Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences. Buffalo Public School students are invited to the campus to learn about genomics through various activities. They are led, in small groups, by UB graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and faculty through extracting their own DNA from cheek cells, creating a 3D origami DNA model, learning how to read a chromatogram to identify genetic mutations, and complete a karyotype.

EEH GSA meeting tomorrow!

If you have a funding request for an upcoming conference, you will need to attend this meeting if you have not already done so at the 2/5 meeting. Please bring any supporting documents for the conference, including a list of expected expenses. Also come and discuss participation in the events planned for National Public Health Week! Jackie Hausler will be attending to discuss some school wide events and contests for NPHW.
