Today, students in the UB Clinical Nutrition MS program presented on nutrition-related pediatric conditions including Maple Syrup Urine Disease, PKU, Urea Cycle Disorders, Wilson’s Disease, Galactosemia, and Prader-Willi Syndrome.

Each group not only explored the science behind these conditions but also prepared meals designed to meet the unique dietary needs of these patients.

A great reminder that nutrition care goes far beyond the textbook—it’s about translating knowledge into practical, compassionate solutions for patients and families.

👋Say hello to Alexa!

Alexa is one of the Co-Presidents of the UB Nutrition Club, where she plays a key role in encouraging community, leadership, and professional growth among her peers. Her dedication to excellence also earned her induction into the Alpha Eta Honor Society.

💪Outside of academics, Alexa is currently training for a HYROX race this May.

✨Known for her bright and bubbly personality, Alexa brings positive energy everywhere she goes. Her compassion and enthusiasm will undoubtedly make her an outstanding pediatric dietitian.

🏥This semester, Alexa is completing her clinical rotation at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

🦷✨ Give Kids a Smile Day at UB School of Dental Medicine

Over 600 children from Buffalo Public Schools, Head Start programs, and local families received free dental exams and treatment, along with education on the important role nutrition plays in dental health.

Our CNMS students were proud to support this incredible event and be part of a day dedicated to community health, education, and bright futures.

👋Say hello to Jack! Jack is a driven and charismatic individual who has had a significant impact on this program.

He has served as the Nutrition Coordinator at Lighthouse Free Medical Clinic, where he has demonstrated significant leadership by supporting student engagement and strengthening connections within the community. This role is just one of many examples of how Jack has gone above and beyond in his involvement and contributions to the program.

Jadyn is a first-year graduate dietitian student with great ambition, generosity, and spirit! 

Jadyn had the amazing opportunity to participate in the WNY Bloodcare WISTER fellowship, where she gained experience working with special disease populations and practicing interprofessional collaboration. Opportunities like these are highly encouraged to gain valuable hands-on experience in the field of nutrition and dietetics.

What an exciting week for our Clinical Nutrition MS program!

We began with our senior class presenting their community, clinical, and research rotations from the fall semester. Then we wrapped up the semester with sampling our juniors’ delicious smoothie recipes for their theme meal - using our smoothie bike!

Our program allows students to choose a specialty rotation. Sofia selected pediatric nutrition and is now completing her specialty rotation at Oishei Children’s Hospital, where she is thriving in a field she’s truly passionate about!
