Answer your calling as an end-of-life doula and make a lasting impact in your community.

Begin your journey with one of UVM's End-of-Life Doula certificates being offered this fall, including Business Foundations, Grief & Bereavement, and End-of-Life Doula Professional Certificate. Here's what our instructors say about each course:

Business Foundations: "The business side of doula work isn’t separate from the care—it’s how we make the care sustainable. I’ve seen too many gifted doulas burn out or walk away because they lacked the confidence and structure needed to scale their business. I teach this course to help them stay in it—fully and authentically." - Sarah Hill, Instructor

Grief & Bereavement: "Grief makes people uncomfortable, and many don’t know what to do, so they back away from the griever to avoid doing the wrong thing. This course helps professionals and community leaders gain the confidence that the support they’re offering is meaningful while also helping others to feel more comfortable being around others who are grieving." - Matilda Garrido, Program Developer & Instructor

End-of-Life Doula Certificate: "Our role as doulas is to help families stretch their definition of a good moment, even in the hardest times" - Laura Delva, End-of-Life Doula Instructor

The fall registration deadline for these courses is September 21. Spots fill quickly - learn more and register: https://bit.ly/4oGyA0y

Dying with dementia is different. The care should be, too.

When a patient can no longer speak, behavior becomes their language. Grief begins long before the final goodbye. And decisions grow more complex as capacity fades.

Most standard dementia training was not built for these moments. It covers the essentials of daily care, but rarely the relational, communication, grief, and decision-making realities of the end of life.

That's the gap the new End-of-Life Dementia Care Professional Certificate from UVM is designed to close.

Built for hospice and palliative care professionals, nurses, social workers, chaplains, CNAs, and end-of-life doulas, this fully online program helps you:

→ Read behavioral and physical signals when words are gone
→ Support families through anticipatory grief and ambiguous loss
→ Navigate capacity and decision-making in advanced illness
→ Adapt vigil and legacy practices with care and dignity

Registration closes October 19. Read the new blog post and register for the certificate: https://bit.ly/4bfp9RO
