BIG CONGRATULATIONS to the Whitewater Fire & EMS crew on passing the Driver/Operator – Aerial (D/O-Aerial) State of Wisconsin practical exam! 🚒

This isn’t an easy one—there’s A LOT that goes into mastering an Aerial apparatus- and these ladies and gentlemen ROCKED it!

Quick breakdown for those wondering: what’s the difference between D/O-Pumper and D/O-Aerial?
• D/O-Pumper is centered around running the engine—water supply, pump operations, and making sure crews have what they need on the line.
• D/O-Aerial shifts the focus to ladder trucks and platforms—positioning, stabilizing, and safely operating aerial devices for rescue and fireground operations.

Different skill sets, same goal—getting the job done safely and effectively.
Strong work!

We’ve been a little quiet on here lately… but that’s only because our Fire & EMS students have been anything but..

They’ve been putting in the work across multiple programs:
• Building Construction
• Driver/Operator – Aerial (D/O-A)
• Driver/Operator – Pumper (D/O-P)
• EMT-Basic (EMT-B)
• Fire & Emergency Services Instructor I & II (FESI - I & II)
• Firefighter I (FFI)
• Firefighter II (FFII)
• Fire Inspector
• Fire Officer I
• HazMat Operations (HMO)
• Health and Wellness
• Paramedic
• Principles of Emergency Services Safety & Survival

Right now it’s go-time.
They’re gearing up for end-of-semester testing, which means long days, hands-on reps, and a whole lot of dedication behind the scenes.
Next stop ——> State Testing for Wisconsin Fire Certifications and National/State EMS certifications.
Proud doesn’t even begin to cover it. Let’s go 🔥🚑

At Firefighter I, training doesn’t pause for convenience. It’s consistent, intentional, and built around preparing students for the realities of the job.

Today’s evolutions challenged both skill and mindset:

• Fire Attack- Advancing charged hose lines with control and coordination to locate and suppress a simulated fire. It’s not just about flowing water — it’s about communication, positioning, and performing under pressure.

• Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) – Training for the moment no one ever wants but every firefighter must be ready for: locating and rescuing a downed firefighter quickly and safely.

• Search & Rescue – Conducting systematic interior searches in limited visibility while maintaining orientation, accountability, and victim removal efficiency.

Comfort doesn’t build firefighters. 🔥Repetition does. Discipline does. Teamwork does.💪🏽
Proud of the focus and grit shown by these students — and grateful for the dedicated instructors who continue to raise the bar, reinforce high standards, and lead by example every step of the way.
This is where the standard is built.

Huge congratulations to our 2026 Spring HazMat Technician students on completing — and passing — their Wisconsin State Practical Exam!☣️🚨

This wasn’t easy. Long days (50 hours to be exact), uncomfortable gear, complicated scenarios, and a whole lot of problem-solving… and every single one of you showed up and pushed through.
You should be proud. ❤️‍🔥

For anyone wondering what a HazMat Technician actually does — these are advanced responders who take hands-on action in dangerous environments. They plug, patch, and contain hazardous releases involving chemicals, WMD, and radioactive materials, all while working in Level A/B PPE to protect people, property, and the environment.

It takes grit, teamwork, and a strong mindset to do this work — and you proved you’ve got it.
So proud of this group.

Congratulations, stay safe, and thank you for stepping up when it matters most.
