The Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies (CES) is the oldest university center devoted to the study of Europe in the United States. CES was founded in 1969 at Harvard’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences to promote the interdisciplinary understanding of European history, politics, economy and societies.

Applications for the CES Visiting Scholars Program and Fellowships for European Scholars for the 2027–2028 academic year are now open!

Postdoctoral social scientists researching modern Europe are invited to apply by November 1, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. (EST).

The John F. Kennedy Memorial Fellowship application is also open through the DAAD with a deadline of October 30, 2026.
