The MISTI MIT-Israel Program expresses our profound horror and sadness in response to the devastating events happening in Israel. We wholeheartedly endorse the message by MIT President Sally Kornbluth in which she states “the brutality perpetrated on innocent civilians in Israel by terrorists from Hamas is horrifying. In my opinion, such a deliberate attack on civilians can never be justified…” We are outraged, heartbroken, and scared. Our thoughts are with Israel.
We recognize that prolonged conflict will continue to tragically claim the lives of more Israelis while also resulting in the death or displacement of many innocent Palestinians in Gaza. We mourn the catastrophic loss of life of all innocent people in the region and we vehemently hope for the safety of those still in danger.
