What a wonderful TechTwinkles edition, .seb 🤩🤩🤩

The Student Events Board (SEB) held the TechTwinkles event in Lobdell on Sunday, December 8.

This beloved tradition brought hundreds of students together for an evening of lively performances by ASA student organizations, including the Chorallaries, Mocha Moves Dance Squad, Student Juggling Club, Bhangra Club, and much more!!!

Alongside the entertainment, students enjoyed raffles, cookies, popcorn, gift cards from Dunkin’ Donuts, built gingerbread houses, and took home the iconic TechTwinkles mugs as souvenirs.

From treats to tunes and everything in between, TechTwinkles created joyful moments that brought the MIT community together. What a wonderful way to wrap up the semester!

Congrats, SEB and all participants!!!🌟🌟🌟👏👏👏✨✨✨

🌟Spreading Holiday Cheer at TechTwinkles Treats & Beats!🎶

On December 5, 2024, the W20 lobby was filled with warmth, holiday cheer, and festive fun at the TechTwinkles Treats & Beats event! This delightful gathering was made possible through the collaboration of the Student Organizations, Leadership, and Engagement (SOLE) office and the Student Events Board (SEB), one of SOLE’s student programming groups.

The aroma of hot cocoa and fresh cookies set the stage for a cozy atmosphere where students could unwind and connect.

Students enjoyed festive treats, SOLE swag like beanies and reusable utensils, and some lighthearted fun with fidget toys.

Whether students were sipping cocoa, munching on cookies, or catching up with friends, the event offered a much-needed pause from the hustle of the semester.

🍂🍁SEB FallFest 2024: A Night of Fun, Laughter, and Fall Festivities!fall🎥🍿🎬🧡🎭

Last Saturday, October 5th, from 6 to 10 pm, the Student Events Board (SEB) hosted their SEB FallFest on Kresge Oval, bringing together MIT students for an unforgettable night of entertainment, delicious food, and fall-themed fun. Open to all MIT students, the event featured a variety of activities that celebrated the spirit of the season, along with cultural flair and community engagement.

SEB FallFest 2024 offered free food provided by student cultural organizations, including Chocolate City, Latino Cultural Center, Blasian Student Union, Camp Kesem, and African Student Association. The night was highlighted by a screening of Inside Out 2, drawing students to relax under the stars, and the headline comedian Andy Woodhull, who had the crowd laughing throughout his set. SEB also handed out fall-themed goodie bags, free candy, and cozy SEB picnic blankets, enhancing the warm autumn atmosphere.

Olivia Beniston, senior student and Co-President of SEB, reflected on the event’s success: “The event went really well! Everyone enjoyed the movie and food, and it looked great on Kresge Oval. Andy Woodhull was great to work with! He was so chill. He had a great set, and I heard a lot of laughter when I was by the door welcoming students in.”

Looking ahead, SEB is already in the process of planning more exciting events for the spring semester that promises to be just as relevant, engaging, and memorable for MIT students.✨✨

✨✨2026 Brass Rat Design was finally revealed at Ring Premiere Event last Saturday, Feb 10th!✨✨

The Ring Committee, comprised of 12 passionate sophomore students (Helena Usey, Maggie Yao, Sean Huckleberry, Hailey Polson, Marco Arias, Katrina Li, Nathan Kim, Jamison O’Keefe, Sabrina Chen, Ann Liu, Teresa Jiang, and Vicky Chen), orchestrated an unforgettable Ring Premiere ceremony for the Class of 2026 at Kresge Auditorium. Hundreds of students from the Class of 2026 gathered eagerly to witness the grand unveiling of their distinctive Brass Rat design.

Throughout the ceremony, each element of the 2026 Brass Rat ring was meticulously introduced by the Ring Comm members, from the Bezel to the class shank, seal shank, and intricate depictions of the Boston and Cambridge skylines. Embracing cherished MIT traditions, the inner side of the band featured the enigmatic Hacker’s Map, adding an element of intrigue and heritage for the students.

Notably, the beloved mascot Tim The Beaver made delightful appearances throughout the ring’s design, fostering a sense of school spirit and unity among the attendees.

After the ceremony, swag bags containing t-shirts, stickers, toothpick holders, and the ring brochure were distributed to all attendees by volunteers from the Class of 2027.

Following Premiere, members of the Class of 2026 have one week to place their orders for this special piece of jewelry. The rings will be delivered to students during the Ring Delivery Ceremony, scheduled for Sunday, May 5th, at the ViewBoston attraction in the Prudential Center.

Under the guidance of the SOLE office, the 2026 Ring Committee collaborated closely with the company Herff Jones to transform their vision into reality, ensuring that each ring reflects the pride of the MIT community and the legacy of their class.

Congratulations, 2026 Ring Committee!
