Harvard Latinos in Health Careers (LiHC)

Harvard Latinos in Health Careers (LiHC) Undergraduate student organization that focuses on providing resources to students and giving back to the Latinx community through health initiatives.

Latinos in Health Careers is a pre-professional and student-run organization at Harvard College, whose objective is to provide undergraduate students with the resources to fully pursue their interests in a health profession. We hold various events throughout the year to provide guidance to pre-medical and pre-graduate students as they go forth to enter careers related to health or biomedical scien

ces. All undergraduate students are welcome especially those interested in medicine and the health sciences! Latin-American health care issues will be emphasized and our central goal will be to promote and ensure the success of culturally aware health care providers and to foster a feeling of commitment to underserved populations. Together, in conjunction with the support of the Harvard faculty and community, we strive to become both compassionate and effective health care leaders and providers in our immediate realm and throughout the world.

Hi LiHC! We would like to announce the revival of our club and the revamping of our club board and structure for this semester! The mission of LiHC is to provide undergraduate students with the resources to fully pursue their interests in a health profession. Stay tuned for various events that we will be holding to build our club's community and begin brainstorming events for the future of Latinos in Health Careers! In March we will be holding elections, but until then we would love to get as many students interested in medicine to come out to our events to start showing you the wonderful community and resources our club has to offer! On November 8th, 2013 in conjunction with the Massachusetts Hispanic Medical Association, Harvard Latinos in Health Careers (LiHC) had the chance to volunteer at a community health fair where members learned to take blood glucose levels, blood pressure, and calculate BMI readings for an elderly hispanic population in Jamaica Plains.
