Welcome to the Nock Laboratory at Harvard University! The primary goal of our research is to advance the understanding of why people engage in behaviors that are harmful to themselves, with a special emphasis on suicide, self-injury, and other forms of direct self-harm. Our research is multi-disciplinary and uses a range of methodological approaches to better understand how these behaviors develop
, how to predict their occurrence, and ultimately how to prevent them. Interested in participating in a research study? We are currently recruiting the following participants for research projects in our lab:
1) Females ages 15-19 currently suffering with depression [For more information email: [email protected] with "MRI study" in the subject line]
2) Adolescents ages 12-19 currently suffering with a mood or anxiety disorder, or receiving any kind of mental health treatment (e.g., therapist, counselor, psychiatrist) [For more information email: [email protected] with "Adolescent Study" in the subject line]
