The MIT $100K Entrepreneurship Competition brings students and researchers from across MIT and Greater Boston to launch their talent, ideas, and technology into leading companies.

This year's winner, CoFlo Medical, is an MIT-based startup that developed a faster and lower-cost device for injecting biologic drugs. The technology could expand access and reduce injection time for biologic drugs for cancer and autoimmune diseases.

MIT’s Abdul Latif Jameel Water and Food Systems Lab (J-WAFS) has transformed the landscape of water and food research at MIT, driving faculty engagement and catalyzing new research and innovation in these critical areas.

One example: MIT Sloan Professor Stephen Graves and Professor Bishwapriya Sanyal from the Department of Urban Studies and Planning partnered to pursue new research on agricultural supply chains.

With field work in Senegal, their J-WAFS-supported project brought together international development specialists and operations management experts to study how small firms and government agencies influence access to and uptake of irrigation technology by poorer farmers.

For Eliza Weaver, MBA '26, attending a school with a strong entrepreneurship community was crucial.

"When I think of MIT, I think of the top institution for technology and entrepreneurship," she says. "My experiences with the [MIT] Sloan program have reinforced this impression and highlighted additional strengths, particularly the “Sloanies helping Sloanies” mentality."

One aspect she is most excited about is Action Learning's Global Entrepreneurial Lab. In her interview with Poets&Quants, she says:

"I’m fascinated and impressed by the problems Sloan students have solved for businesses in Indonesia, Kenya, and beyond."

"As a future business leader, the opportunity to connect and experiment with experienced business leaders is invaluable. The chance to work directly with companies in different countries is a rare opportunity that I am unlikely to encounter outside of Sloan."

Having worked in areas like supply chain, procurement, sales, and marketing, Neva Unsal, MBA '26, wanted a graduate program where she could further explore these topics in innovative ways.

"With its emphasis on doing, [MIT] Sloan’s experiential curriculum is a privilege in its own right."

One aspect Neva is excited about is the certificate options for MBA students! Able to pursue up to two, she plans on earning the Enterprise Management and the Entrepreneurship and Innovation certificates. Both of which will help with her goal of launching an e-commerce venture to help small businesses and makers expand globally.

When Natalie Madden, MBA '26, thinks of MIT Sloan, she pictures innovation – citing aspects like the institute's extensive list of entrepreneurship resources and its adaptable curriculum in the face of burgeoning technologies such as AI.

"I sensed that Sloanies are constantly brainstorming solutions to everyday problems, turning frustrations into ventures. Sloanies are doers."

As part of the Class of 2026, she's excited to share her passion for watching others succeed and understanding of an investor's perspectives (fueled by hundreds of conversations with business owners) through her role at Copley Equity Partners.
