New week, new Feature! This week, we pointed the camera at Charlie Baliban! Charlie is an English major with a minor in Film, Writing, and Theater Arts. Since he was a kid, Charlie has had a profound love for reading and writing. He wrote many short stories in high school and college, and this love of writing pushed him to become an English major at Camden County Community College. When transferring to Rutgers Camden, he took one of his first film classes and instantly found joy in filmmaking. Only recently has he realized that filmmaking encompasses all of his favorite hobbies, like reading, writing, and watching movies, into 1 thing that he can do for a career. After graduating this year, he will continue his education in filmmaking at Loyola Marymount University! Getting into grad school is one of his biggest accomplishments, alongside the personal growth he has achieved in college thanks to his friends and professors. With all of the work that he does, he strives to connect with people on a deeper emotional level and hopes that his work helps others connect with people on a deeper level. Fun Facts: Charlie wanted to be a paleontologist as a kid and is currently learning Taekwondo!

Happy Feature Friday! This week, we are shining a light on King Cohen! King is an Urban Studies and Intermedia major graduating in the Fall of ‘26! King started as an Urban Studies major because he is really into activism and programs like public housing. The urban studies program allowed him to learn more about the social topics he was interested in and provided him with several role models along the way. After taking a sculpture class with Prof. Demaray, he decided to pursue an arts degree in Intermedia to complement his already flourishing artistic background and his urban studies degree. His ultimate goal in pursuing an art degree is to bring about social change through his art, and intermedia allowed him to experiment with whatever media helped him achieve that goal. Most of King’s art consists of public murals around the world, with some of his favorites in Australia, Amsterdam, Philadelphia, and Kentucky. King has a strong artistic background in graffiti, and because of that, his work stands out much more. Fun Facts: King is originally from Texas, both of his parents are artists, and his favorite meal is steak with a baked potato, bacon, and sour cream!
