What started as a “Vision Fair” in 1974 through the hearts, the minds, and the strength of a few, now 40 years later has blossomed into a Soror’s Treasure called Iota Omega Omega. Throughout her 40 years, the Iota Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. has made tremendous strides in providing service to all Mankind in Camden, South Carolina and its surrounding areas. These great s
trides encompassed by activities involving education, health, the Black Family, the arts, and economics. A group of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority women of Camden, SC that were affiliated with Eta Zeta Omega Chapter of Sumter, SC decided to withdraw from the chapter and form a local Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Interest Group. In March of 1973, the Interest group met at the Holiday Inn in Lugoff, SC with the South Atlantic Regional Director, Soror Homie Regulus, to formulate plans for organizing a chapter. On Saturday, January 5, 1974, 14 members from the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Interest Group came together for the Chartering Ceremony of Iota Omega Omega. The Chartering Ceremony was conducted by Soror Homie Regulus, the South Atlantic Regional Director. The Charter Members:
