Hey, Twin Oaks community! When we are out and about in the community, we often get comments about the wonderful baked good that were once offered at Twin Oaks. Muffins, jams, sweet breads remembered with a distinct fondness. While our current kitchen facilities aren't ready to get back to commercial baking, one of our students (Elizabeth Weinmann) took it upon herself to create a piece of Twin Oaks that you can bring to your own kitchen: a Twin Oaks cookbook!

Liz has diligently researched recipes for this book- incorporating original recipes from Twin Oaks' previous owners, Joe and Jean Richards, and adding new recipes too. She's tested each recipe and photographed them as well. She even hand painted the cover art!

We have 50 copies of this cookbook ordered and will be offering them at $25, plus tax. All proceeds go to student wages and farm improvements. Comment below if you are interested and we'll tag you once the link to purchase is live!

This has been such a special project, outside the realm of normal "farm" activities. This cookbook speaks to the versatility of our students and what can result when creativity is embraced!

Great to keep in mind- we do offer U-Pick pecans in the fall!

Pecans aren’t just a delicious snack—they’re packed with nutrients that support overall health. A one-ounce serving contains healthy fats, fiber, and plant-based protein. Pecans are also rich in antioxidants and provide important minerals like magnesium and zinc. The heart-healthy fats found in pecans may help support cholesterol levels when enjoyed as part of a balanced diet. Whether eaten on their own or added to meals, pecans are a nutritious way to fuel your day. Five of our Twin Oaks students graduated today. Five students who experienced hard work, participated in research, and understood they were contributing to something bigger than themselves. Five people who put literal blood, sweat, and tears into our farm- when the plan was always to graduate and move on to other adventures. It’s truly remarkable to see students invest so much time and effort into something that, if everything goes right, they walk away from. While this group is officially off the payroll, the memories and lessons learned will earn dividends through out their lives and our Twin Oaks network will always be here to support them.
Two of these individuals, Elizabeth and Peyton, have played a major part in farm renovations over the last 2 years.
Laura is set to carry on that momentum through the next 2 years as she becomes the graduate assistant at Twin Oaks!

We were honored to be named the ETAMU College of Agriculture Sciences and Natural Resources “Outstanding Student Organization” last night!
Thank you to our team of students, past and present, who have elevated Twin Oaks into a place of learning and community outreach. We are continuing to build impactful programs to give our students experiential learning opportunities and provide fresh produce opportunities (limited for now) to our community.

Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers and Twin Oaks staff that came out for Earth Day! Despite the threat of rain over our event, we celebrated Earth Day by planting a children's garden at Twin Oaks Farm. With all of this rain and summer around the bend, we're excited to see this little garden flourish!

Twin Oaks Farm and our inaugural Experiential Leadership Learning Initiative (ELLI) cohort was well represented today at the ETAMU Annual Research Symposium! Seven of our students presented their work, with Zion Palmer and McKenzie Thummel earning 1st place undergraduate research poster in the College of Agriculture Sciences and Natural Resources division.

Funding for these projects and ELLI was provided by an ETAMU honors college challenge grant, ETAMU VPRED Dr. Brent Donham, ETAMU President Dr. Mark Rudin, and your generous donations!
