Dr. Kirby had a wonderful time working with the 7th and 8th grade bands at Hannibal Middle School. These young musicians are making some great music. Thanks for the invitation to work with your students!

At Culver-Stockton College, our music education major prepares students to become passionate, skilled educators while continuing to grow as musicians and leaders. Through rigorous coursework, hands-on teaching experiences, and mentorship from dedicated faculty, students develop the musical knowledge and instructional skills needed to inspire future generations.

As Wyatt Houseworth '26 shared: "The coursework is demanding and requires a lot of time and dedication, but what makes it so special is that I've genuinely enjoyed every class. The music professors make learning fun and engaging, and the education professors do the same. Being a music education major has not only prepared me to be an effective teacher but has also helped me grow as a musician, a leader, and a person."

The music education major at C-SC continues to prepare future educators who are ready to lead ensembles, inspire students, and make a lasting impact through music.
