Congratulations to all of our outstanding student award winners from the Accounting Program! 🎉

At this year’s annual Accounting Banquet, we had the privilege of celebrating the incredible accomplishments, dedication, and perseverance of our students. A variety of awards were presented to recognize those who have demonstrated exceptional performance both in the classroom and through valuable internship experiences. Their hard work, professionalism, and commitment to excellence truly set them apart and reflect the strength of our program.

The evening was also a special time to honor the continued growth of our academic community. We proudly welcomed new members into Beta Alpha Psi, recognizing their commitment to academic and professional excellence in accounting. In addition, we celebrated the installation of new officers who will help lead the organization forward with passion, integrity, and vision.

We are incredibly proud of each student recognized and excited to see all they will accomplish in their future careers.

Yesterday was Dr. Kevin Dickson’s last day on campus but today we want to congratulate him and his wife, Brynda, on their new opportunity to serve as mission leaders for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The assignment was a surprise to them, but they were humbled to accept.

Beginning in June 2026, the Dicksons will serve for three years leading the Florida Fort Lauderdale Mission, where they will support more than 200 young missionaries.

As we mentioned in yesterday’s post, as part of this transition, Dr. Dickson will step away from his role as Interim Dean of the Harrison College of Business and Computing. During his time at SEMO, he has demonstrated a deep commitment to our students, faculty, staff, and university community. He continues to hold a strong vision for Southeast Missouri State University and its future and has shared that he will greatly miss the remarkable people he has worked alongside each day.

Cape Girardeau and SEMO have been home to the Dickson family for more than two decades, and they hope to return and continue serving the university in the future.

Friends and community members are invited to attend the Dicksons’ farewell talks on Saturday, June 14, at 9:00 a.m. at 1732 N. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau.

We are grateful for Kevin and Brynda’s years of service and leadership and wish them every success and blessing in this exciting new chapter!

Today marks the final day of Dr. Kevin Dickson at HCBC, concluding 23 years of dedicated service to our institution.

Since joining HCBC in 2003, Dr. Dickson has faithfully served in multiple roles, beginning as a Management Professor, then Chair of the Department of Management, and most recently as Interim Dean during his final year. Throughout his tenure, he has been a steadfast source of support and mentorship for students, faculty, staff, and the broader community.

Dr. Dickson’s impact is both lasting and meaningful. For over two decades, he has played a key role in shaping student experiences and contributing to the continued growth of HCBC. In the past year alone, he led transformational initiatives within the Harrison College of Business and Computing, creating opportunities for students to engage with alumni and distinguished guest speakers, enriching their academic and professional development.

As we say farewell, we do so with deep gratitude and appreciation. Dr. Dickson has been an exceptional leader, educator, colleague, and friend to many.
We wish him all the very best in his future endeavors.

Thank you, Dr. Dickson, for 23 years of remarkable service to HCBC.
