One of the most well-known mathematical theorems that nearly everyone learns in school is the Pythagorean Theorem.

Although it’s named after the Greek mathematician Pythagoras, the relationship between the sides of a right triangle was actually known long before him, appearing in ancient Babylonian, Indian, and Chinese mathematics over 3,000 years ago.

So why is it so famous?
Because it explains how distance works. From architecture and navigation to physics and computer graphics, this simple equation connects geometry to the real world in a powerful way. The theorem that shaped mathematics continues to shape our world today.

What are your thoughts on this theorem?
