Our singers come from all across campus. Some have sung in choir their entire lives. Others haven't sung since high school. What they discover is the same thing: a welcoming community, meaningful music-making, and a chance to be part of something bigger than themselves.

Research consistently shows that singing reduces stress, improves well-being, and builds community. We see it every day.

If you sang in high school and miss it, this is your invitation.

If you've always wanted to sing but never thought there was a place for you at the university, this is your invitation.

Congratulations to the 10-time National Champions: the Flying Salukis! We have a proud flying Saluki in our tenor section!

TEN. TIME. NATIONAL. CHAMPIONS.

The Flying Salukis are bringing the 2026 national collegiate aviation championship home to SIU, marking the team’s 10th national title and first since 2015.

And they did not just squeak by.

SIU finished 57 points ahead of second-place North Dakota, won the flight events title, and had 12 team members score points at nationals.

That is what happens when talent meets discipline, when teammates push each other, and when a program refuses to let its standard slip.

Congratulations to Coach Nathan Lincoln, the Flying Salukis, and everyone in SIU Aviation who helped bring another championship back to Carbondale.

National champs look pretty good on us.

Such a beautiful recital! Our Soprano I, Esther Tang, presented her master’s collaborative piano recital, featuring GA Harrison Gilberti, alto section leader Imogen Prudent-Perry, and our incredible voice faculty, Dr. Scroggins and Dr. Dillard. And our own Bass II, Henryk Kao, who is also a fantastic pianist, turned pages!

A terrific concert. Bravi tutti!
